Where is my filing? Understanding statuses

Updated [date] · 3 min · Applies to federal, Quebec, Ontario and B.C.

Your dashboard shows one status per order, updated in real time as soon as the registry replies. Here’s what each means and what you can do.

Statuses explained

In progressWe’re preparing your file. Nothing to do; you can still edit the order.
Action requiredA signature or document is missing. Open the order: the red button shows what to provide.
FiledSent to the registry with a request number. No more changes; timing depends on the registry.
IncorporatedCertificate received. Your documents and minute book are available.
RejectedThe registry refused the filing. The reason is shown; we fix and refile at no extra fee.

How long does each step take?

Timing depends on the registry, not us: federal 1 business day (often a few hours), Ontario a few hours, B.C. 1–2 days, Quebec 1–3 days. Weekends and provincial holidays don’t count.

The order timeline shows each step’s timestamp and the registry request number.

What if the status doesn’t move?

  1. Check the Registry status page: maintenance can delay all filings.
  2. Open the order: if something is needed (signature, document), the status turns to “Action required” and you get an email.
  3. Two business days past the stated turnaround, chat with us with your order number: we follow up with the registry.
Note. A “Filed” order can no longer be edited. Fixing an error after that point requires a corporate amendment (registry fee applies).
